Meet Bane - A Heart Full of Love! %9D%A4%8F%90%BE Location: Kemp, TX DOB: 8/13/2022 Bane is a big, lovable boy with soulful eyes, a playful spirit, and an endless supply of affection! This sweet guy wants nothing more than to be close to his people, whether that means playing fetch in the backyard, enjoying a tasty chew, or snuggling on the couch. Fair warning: Bane takes cuddling seriously and may try to become your very own weighted blanket! Bane loves fetch, tug-of-war, catching treats and balls in the air, playing in water and mud, and wrestling with his canine foster siblings. He has plenty of goofy energy and enjoys outdoor adventures, but he generally settles nicely indoors with a chew or enrichment toy. He's also very food motivated, making training fun, and already knows 'sit,' 'leave it,' 'out,' and 'no.' He's housebroken and does great in the car, too! %90 Friends, Family, and Fun Bane currently lives with several dogs and enjoys having canine companions. He could do well with a compatible medium-to-large dog, provided introductions are handled thoughtfully. Because he sometimes gets too close when other dogs have toys or chews, supervision and separate resources are recommended. Due to his prey drive and tendency to intensely track the resident cat, a cat-free home would likely be best. Bane has done well with visitors and older children. However, his size, strength, and excitement can be overwhelming for little ones. He may accidentally bump into young children or chase them when they run, so close supervision and careful management are essential. He can also jump over baby gates with impressive ease! Helping Bane Feel Safe Bane's biggest challenge is separation anxiety. He becomes extremely distressed when left alone or confined to his kennel, sometimes barking, whining, scratching, and jumping at doors or walls. He is working on crate training and currently takes prescribed medication for anxiety. Bane needs a patient, compassionate family willing to work with his veterinary team and continue helping him build confidence. A home where someone is present most of the time, or where he rarely needs to be left alone, would be ideal. He also needs continued leash training, as he is a strong puller. A securely fenced yard for fetch would be a wonderful bonus, especially if there's water to splash around in! Bane would thrive with a family that can provide exercise, enrichment, consistency, and plenty of affection. %9D%A4%8F Bane Deserves His Happily Ever After Bane has clearly had a difficult past, but his loving heart shines through in everything he does. Those soulful eyes, his goofy zoomies, and the way he leans his big body into his favorite people make him truly special. He isn't looking for perfection. He needs someone who understands that anxiety takes time, patience, and compassion to work through. In return, he'll offer endless love, laughter, loyal companionship, and the best couch cuddles around. Bane is looking for a family who will help him feel safe, loved, and never alone in spirit again.
