Meet Stan - A Big-Hearted Boy Looking for His Forever Home! %90%BE Location: Arlington, TX DOB: 12/6/2023 If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who loves a good walk, a favorite stuffy, and being close to his people, Stanley might just be your guy! Stan is a wonderful mix of playful and laid-back. He enjoys getting out for his daily walks, exploring all the exciting smells along the way, and stretching his athletic legs in the backyard. He'll happily chase a bunny if one crosses his path, so a watchful eye outdoors is a must! Once he's had some exercise and stimulation, Stan settles in beautifully and is content to lounge on his dog bed, relax in his kennel, or hang out on the patio while his people go about their day. Stan is a world-class snuggler. His favorite place to rest his big, handsome head is pretty much anywhere he can reach you - your lap, your stomach, your shoulder, or even the back of the couch! He also has a hilarious signature move: big stretches followed by enormous yawns that end in a little squeak. It's guaranteed to make you smile. And don't forget the stuffies! Stan absolutely loves stuffed animals. He carries them around, squeaks them with enthusiasm, and sometimes takes it upon himself to remove the stuffing. When playtime is over, he may just snuggle up with his favorite toy on his bed. A good bone or chew toy is also always appreciated. A few things to know about Stan Stan is housebroken, crate-trained, and a great car rider. He has excellent house manners and has never had an accident or destroyed anything in his foster home. He loves his kennel and is comfortable relaxing there with the door open or closed. He's also a great communicator without being a big barker. When it's time for a walk, he'll politely follow his people around the house until they get the hint! Stan is still working on his leash manners and needs regular walks, playtime, and mental stimulation to keep him happy. He has lived successfully with other large dogs and might enjoy having a canine playmate, although he would also be perfectly content as your one and only. Stan and his people Stan has lived with four foster children between the ages of 3 and 8 and has been loving, gentle, and patient with his foster family. He's especially fond of his 8-year-old foster sibling! He calmly waits for the kids to put down his food bowl, respects their meals and plates, and enjoys simply lying nearby while family life happens around him. Stan does, however, have a protective side that needs thoughtful management. When children he doesn't know are playing loudly or roughly, he can become nervous and feel the need to intervene. He has nipped at two neighboring children during energetic play involving his foster kids. For this reason, Stan needs a home that understands his triggers, can supervise interactions carefully, and can prevent him from being put in situations where he feels he needs to protect his family. A home with elementary-aged or older children would be a great fit, particularly one with less frequent activity from visiting children. Families with younger children may also be a possibility if they can consistently manage introductions, supervision, and playtime safely. Stan can also be nervous around new people, especially men. He may initially tuck his tail or give a small growl from his bed, but he has warmed up beautifully to his foster dad and other men in the family with calm, patient introductions. He'll thrive with people who respect his space and give him time to feel comfortable. Stan has a strong prey drive toward small animals such as rabbits and armadillos, and his compatibility with cats is unknown. He can get excited when he sees other dogs on walks, possibly because he wants to meet and play, so continued work on calm leash greetings will be helpful. His happily-ever-after Stan is a special boy with so much love to give. He's affectionate without needing constant entertainment, playful without being on the go all day, and happiest when he can be near the people he loves. Give him his walks, a few toys to squeak, a cozy place to nap, and a family who understands and respects his boundaries, and you'll have one very happy dog. His foster family absolutely adores him and knows he has all the makings of an incredible companion. He would love a family with older kids, a predictable home environment, and perhaps a friendly dog to play with - but most of all, he needs people who will help him feel safe, set him up for success, and love him for the wonderful dog he is. Could Stan be the missing piece of your family? He's ready to trade his foster home for a forever home filled with love, snuggles, squeaky stuffies, and plenty of adventures. %9D%A4%8F =============================================================================== To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .
