EVERYONE LOVES THIS BOY! ٴ%9D%A4%8F Meet Mitch! Our handsome 6-year-old Lab came to us from 29 Palms with his sister, who has already found her forever home. Now it's Mitch's turn, and after hearing about his office adventure, we can't figure out why this boy is still waiting! Mitch knows sit, down, and speak, is house-trained, and is working on putting on a little healthy weight. He can be a bit of a kennel comedian because he REALLY wants to be where the people are. But get him out of his kennel and into an office? Whole different dog. He settles right in and is happy to snooze by your side. And if you sit on the floor? Game over. Mitch will climb right into your lap and make himself comfortable. %9D%A4%8F This boy is a certified cuddle bug! But don't just take our word for it! Here's the report from our amazing volunteer who took Mitch to work for the day: 'Mitch was an absolute star at the office today! My coworkers nicknamed him Nemo because of his small ear and the fact that he was always up for an adventure and exploring. He helped pack samples in our lab, assisted our botanists with protecting rare plants from bunnies and rodents (he took his garden patrol duties VERY seriously ), and served as chief officer of snuggles, cuddles, and kisses for everyone in the building. During a casual meeting, we were sitting on the floor (as meetings ought to be had), and he immediately tucked his head under my chin, snuggled in, and started napping. Everyone was a big fan! He had no accidents inside and let me know when he needed to go out with his happy, tappy feet. No barking, just happy, impatient little whines when we were getting his leash on. He's a bit strong on the leash when he's first excited to get out, but he settles down with a little correction. One of my coworkers' kids came by, and Mitch was great with them! He gave happy wiggles, asked for pets, and kept checking in with me. He's very good at sit and lie down (especially when food is involved ), and his recall was pretty good even without treats. He's going to be an amazing snuggle bug for someone, and I'm sure he'll be scooped up pretty quickly once people meet him!' Seriously, how is this boy STILL HERE?! ٴ Mitch isn't asking for much. Just a family to love, a comfy place to nap, people to follow around, and someone willing to share a little floor space for cuddle time.
