About ACE

Adoption Fee: $30
Treeing Walker Coonhound / Siberian Husky
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Ace has lived with us for 3 years. He is 4-5 years old. 80-85lbs. Neutered. Ace is high energy, requiring multiple sessions of play (tug) throughout the day. Ace can climb and easily jumps obstacles less than 6 ft. He's incredibly intelligent, able to open lever handle doors and standard deadbolts. Ace loves to puzzle his way out of the house/fence and run. He will return home (once he knows where it is) but he is not easily caught. Ace isn't treat motivated. Ace has a high prey drive and has killed cats, chipmunks, and possum. Ace spent a short time on a small farm before our home and attacked a sheep. Ace currently marks (sprays) inside the home in competition with our Great Pyrenees. Ace can't be contained by a standard crate - he will break/chew through it. He also howls while contained. Ace absolutely loves people. He will be your best friend. He loves to sleep next to you. With people, Ace is sweet and adoring. Ace barks/talks quite a bit, more typical of a husky breed. Ace and our Pyrenees had another major fight, the second time this has happened. We pulled them apart, or one of them would be dead by the other. First fight was a year and a half ago. Behavior and home modifications haven't solved the problem. The situation is now unmanageable. We're desperate to find Ace a person able to take on a smart, high energy dog, who has no other pets. Without adoption, we will have to consider euthanasia. Ace is generally healthy. He battled a nailbed fungal infection which can recur. It has left him anxious about his feet. Nail trims are done every 2 weeks but can be very stressful for him. I'm happy to answer any questions.
