About Shaggy

Shaggy is a male German Shepherd/Husky mix with a big heart and a love for nature. His whole face lights up when he sees his favorite humans - especially if they're taking him for an outing in the park or woods! Shaggy can be a little unsure around new people or unfamiliar things, but with some encouragement from his person, he's more than willing to step outside his comfort zone. A good cuddle or a treat certainly helps! And once he's feeling comfortable, his silly, goofy side comes out. He's the kind of dog you form a real partnership with, discovering the world together while watching his confidence grow along the way. He's smart, attentive, and eager to learn. He already knows several commands - ask him for 'Middle' and he'll proudly park himself between your legs! Toys aren't really his thing, but exploring the outdoors definitely is. He's happy to walk by your side at a sniffing pace, but he'd also make a wonderful running buddy. And with that amazing nose of his, we suspect he'd love a good game of 'find the cookie.' Shaggy would thrive with an active family who wants a dog who's truly part of their lives. He loves one-on-one attention but has plenty of affection to share. Given his youthful energy, he'd do best in a home with children over 12. He is dog friendly. While he passed his cat test in the shelter he has no history of living with cats in a home so would need an experienced family to assist with an introduction.
