About Syrian hamster

Please do not enquire unless with a licensed rescue group. cashew is a Syrian hamster. once she gets to know you she's very sweet and loves to run around if you let her. she's never bitten me once, so if you earn her trust she will love you thoroughly. Something to note is that because cashew Syrian hamster, she needs 759-1000 sq inches of floor space. you can use a long and wide 75 gallon reptile or fish tank (she doesn't like the wired cages). she needs to have a slope of bedding that goes from 1.5 up to 8 inches of hight. she needs a lot of sensory stimulation and play things. she's a high energy hamster and I don't think she would like using a ball, but she loves her wheel and running around in your bed if your there to crawl on too. she wouldn't do as well with high energy homes. so other pets or kids wouldn't be ideal and would likely stress her out. be aware that she does have nightmares. they are rare but she might scream. if she does don't open the enclosure. just sit next to it and speak softly and quietly to her until she comes out of it.
