About Calii

Calii: 2 yr old black & rust female, spayed, undocked tail and uncropped ears. 10 lb. Fully vetted. Rescued from shelter. Meet Calii - A Little Sunshine, a Lot of Personality, and Not a Single Enemy! In true Min Pin fashion, Calii was born to sunbathe. If there's a patch of sunshine in the house, you can bet she'll find it and claim it as her own. Calii is a social butterfly who hasn't quite figured out that not every dog identifies as an extrovert like she does. She absolutely adores other dogs and would happily make friends with every single one if given the chance. In fact, this little girl seems to know no enemies! She approaches humans and animals with equal parts curiosity and enthusiasm. While she's mostly a brave little adventurer, there are moments when Calii appreciates having a trusted human show her the way. An unfamiliar doorway or gate might require a little encouragement before she's ready to confidently march through. And curtains blowing in the wind? Suspicious. Very suspicious. Calii has also been learning that alone time isn't so bad! During her first few days in foster care, she expressed her displeasure with some short-lived howling. But as she settles in and gains confidence, she has learned that being home alone isn't quite the tragedy she originally suspected. Calii is also quite the fashionista. She wears hoodies like she was born for the runway and doesn't seem to mind dressing for the occasion. She also LOVES being picked up and may even stand on her hind legs to politely request a lift. Why walk when you can be chauffeured? She does great having free rein and is also housebroken. Though sometimes a trip outside turns into an extended sunbathing session rather than a potty break. Priorities, people! Calii is not much of a barker either, unless there's an intruder. And by intruder, I mean the perfectly nice delivery person who's just trying to do their job. The only potential disagreement around the house: Furry slippers. She may occasionally mistake them for a toy, but a gentle 'no' and an actual toy usually do the trick. And speaking of toys... did someone say TOYS?! Calii LOVES them! She sometimes enjoys a good game of fetch, although she reserves the right to decide whether bringing the toy back is worth her time. When she's done playing, Calii is more than happy to curl up next to you on the couch. She's also a fan of bedtime snuggles, though she occasionally prefers a little personal space. A girl appreciates having options! Calii walks beautifully on a leash. Car rides, however, aren't quite her favorite adventure just yet. She tends to get a little anxious and pants during the ride, but with time and positive experiences, she may become more comfortable. For now, she seems to have decided that the walks waiting at the other end are worth the transportation arrangements! Calii could stand to gain a pound or two, but she hasn't been enthusiastic about her kibble. In foster, kibble was being slid across the floor to make mealtime more exciting! However, the moment a can of dog food was opened, Calii made it very clear this was not her first rodeo. Mixing just a few tablespoons of canned food into her kibble has been a great way to encourage her appetite. For her future family, Calii would likely enjoy having another canine companion to share her adventures with. That said, she'd probably be equally delighted to reign as the solo queen of her castle, so long as she still gets opportunities to socialize with her four-legged friends. She hasn't been observed around children yet, so that's an unknown. Calii is a curious, affectionate, playful little girl with so much love to give. She's equal parts sunshine enthusiast, social butterfly, fashion icon, and professional cuddler. All she's missing is a forever home.
