About Pepper

Pepper is a 2-year-old, 20-pound little tripod with a big personality! After being bitten by another dog in 2025, Pepper unfortunately had to have one of his front legs amputated. Losing a leg hasn't stopped this boy from enjoying life, though. He loves playing ball, wrestling with his Chihuahua buddy, and going for walks. Pepper gets along with other dogs, although he can sometimes be a bit of a bully with certain dogs, so a proper introduction to any future canine siblings will be important. This smart boy is house trained and crate trained, walks very well on a leash, and has quite the list of tricks. Pepper can sit, shake, high five, dance, and roll! Pepper is also a dog who knows exactly what he wants when it comes to affection. He enjoys being a lap dog, but he isn't a cuddler and prefers to be touched on his terms. If he's uncomfortable, Pepper will usually growl as a warning. If that warning isn't respected and the touching continues, he may nip. Because of this, Pepper is NOT kid friendly and needs an adult-only home with no children. Pepper's perfect person will understand canine boundaries and allow him to build trust at his own pace. He isn't looking for someone who wants to constantly hug, hold, or fuss over him. He's looking for someone who will give him the space he asks for and enjoy him for the fun, clever, independent little character he is.
