(willing to drive up to: To be determined). 9.5 Y/O MALE AKC REGISTERED AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD (DOB: 12/23/16). His name is 'Marley'. Background: Current Shepherd Parent has had Marley for 8 years. NOT UTD on shots WITHOUT record. Fixed. Good with OLDER kids only. Marley does not do well with smaller children due to his herding instincts and needs a home without young children. Any known medical issues?: No known medical issues disclosed. Marley experiences Anxiety triggered by certain noises, including thunder and rain. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: No history disclosed. Anxiety related to certain noises has been reported. ENERGY LEVEL: Low. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Low. Weighs 30 lbs. Currently on Purina Pro Plan Sensitive Stomach plus Evangers canned moist food. Good with car rides?: No. Marley gets carsick and throws up during car rides. Socialized with: *people?: Yes. *dogs?: Yes, but he does best with passive dogs and is not compatible with dominant dogs. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes. Loves: Walks, sleeping in bed with his person, chilling on the couch, being near his person, cuddling, playing with kids and dogs, chew bones, and treats. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Yes. However, Marley is a runner and may disappear if he is not safely fenced or contained. A secure yard and reliable containment are essential. *Good on a Leash?: Yes. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: None Disclosed. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'He is a great dog other than the anxiety and does not do well with smaller children due to breed herding. He does not do well with dominant dogs but if they are passive, he's great. Great w cats. Great dog for possibly an older crowd. Someone that takes small walks everyday and needs a companion. Very loving and fully house trained.' Re Homing because'|: Marley's Current Shepherd Parent has an aggressive, dominant Shepherd, and the two dogs simply do not get along. Both dogs are currently up for adoption, and the ongoing stress of keeping them separated has become overwhelming for the Current Shepherd Parent. Marley is a loving, senior companion who deserves a peaceful home where he can relax, enjoy his daily walks, cuddle with his person, and spend his golden years feeling safe and loved. He will be a great companion for the right person. Will thrive best'|?: In a loving home with NO DOMINANT DOGS and NO YOUNG CHILDREN. Marley would be wonderful with an older individual or couple looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who enjoys leisurely daily walks and relaxing together. He needs a securely fenced yard because he is a runner and can disappear if not safely contained. His new family should respect his age, understand his noise anxiety, and allow him appropriate freedom to relax and free-roam when alone only once he has been safely trusted and trained. Comes with: Collar, bed, food, toys, and AKC papers.
