CODE RED- 10/21@10 am deadline or shelter states he will be euthanized due to space X URGENT AT CASA GRANDE , AZ ( nr Phoenix) , ID #A293535 -'BALOO' AT PINAL COUNTY ANIMAL CARE AND CONTROL,- ADORABLE CHOW BOY - NEEDS LOVING FOREVER HOME, but LIKELY NEEDS RESCUE AND THUS A FOSTER OFFER ASAP We are in urgent need of finding a responsible forever home, foster to adopt, or foster and rescue for dear Baloo. The Pinal Shelter is now reaching out for help and said, 'Baloo came to PCACC as a stray just a few days ago. Like most Chows in a shelter Baloo is very shut down in this environment. He is timid to leash up, but once leashed walks well with minimal pulling and is polite and quiet when interacting with people but hasn't shown us much of his true personality. Baloo has approached other dogs with soft and polite body language and moved away when a small dog growled at him. But has not had a full playgroup assessment. PCACC does not have a vet on staff so we are unaware of any underlying medical conditions he appears to be otherwise physically healthy. He is not neutered but we can neutered with a committed pull or obviously if adopted. He is available for adoption or rescue pull!' The shelter reached out again on 10/13 and explained, 'He is was initially timid to leash up, but once he got to know his handlers he would be wagging and happy waiting at the front of the kennel for his walk. Baloo appears to be house broken. Unfortunately Baloo is very unsure of new handlers and bit a new handler on the fingers when they were trying to leash him to go for a walk. Bite report available upon request. Baloo is currently on bite quarantine due to this incident. Due to our current capacity for care Baloo will need placement outside of the shelter on 10/21/26 or he will be humanely euthanized. ' Baloo is estimated to be 5 years young and was found in neglected condition and survived scorching heat. We are therefore looking for a foster or foster to adopt asap we can refer to a willing rescue. Rescue groups should contact the shelter directly at [email protected] and OR by calling 520-509-3555 and providing ID. If he can still be adopted, Please also call the shelter and email [email protected]. If he is no longer available to adopt due to the bite incident, we can try to pair you with a willing rescue to help. Here is his listing link: https://24petconnect.com/DetailsMain/PINL/A293535 If you may be interested in fostering through a rescue group though, or helping in some other way (ie., pledging for her rescue if needed), please email [email protected] asap at Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to find placement asap.
