About MARSHMELLOW

Marshmallow AKA 'Marshy' is a sweet older kitty that is looking for a warm and quiet place to live out her twilight years. As you can see from her pictures, she is a lightly toasted Marshmallow and has been through some difficulties in her life. At fourteen years old, she lived for over thirteen years outside, until her caretaker passed away, leaving her in need of a home to call her own. Marshy has trouble seeing due to poor vision and crossed eyes, but her other senses are still sharp, and she loves to play with small toys and balls, she still has plenty of playful energy to go around. She does have arthritis in her old age and is currently on a joint supplement. She can be sensitive to new noises and places and takes time and attention to adjust. She likes to be spoken to, and it also helps her locate where you are and what you are doing and feel more comfortable. She is very food motivated and will seek you out when she is hungry, talking and asking for pets and attention in exchange for her dinnertime. Catnip and treats are other favorites of hers. She does not like to be petted on the top of her head, and can get nervous when first approached. But she loves side neck scratches and for her tail to be petted as well as being brushed. She is unique and lovable in so many ways, and tends to gravitate towards being affectionate to her favorite person. She does okay with other cats that give her space, but can get grumpy at them if they push her boundaries. Marshmallow would do best in a home without young children, and may be okay with calm cat friendly dogs that give her space.
