Contessa, AKA Connie, became unpredictably aggressive after having surgery to repair a torn toenail in January 2026. Prior to that time she was a happy, playful lapdog. Now she does not like to be touched although she will nuzzle you if she desires. She has been on several medications, but none have eliminated her out-of-the-blue aggression. I don't trust her anymore although she has not bitten me. She snarls and snaps at me for no apparent reason a couple of times a day. She loves to swim and is a wonderful walking companion. She lives on 32 acres and would not do well in a small living space. Maybe she would excel as a farm dog. Her vet now recommends euthanasia since medication has been unsuccessful in controlling her aggressive outbursts.
