(willing to drive up to 30 miles). 4.5 Y/O MALE GSD (DOB: 5/15/22). His name is 'Mikey'. Background: Current Shepherd Parent has had Mikey for a few days after rescuing him from a tenant who had to leave immediately without warning. Mikey's previous person had him as an Emotional Support Animal (ESA) for approximately 3.5 years. UTD on shots status UNKNOWN WITHOUT record. Not Fixed. Good with kids. Good with dogs. Currently lives with a 13-year-old Chihuahua. Unknown with cats. House trained. Crate trained. Any known medical issues?: No known medical issues disclosed. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: No known history disclosed. Mikey experienced a sudden change in living arrangements when his previous person had to leave unexpectedly. He is accustomed to having his person around nearly 24/7 and is not used to being alone for extended periods. ENERGY LEVEL: Medium. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Low. Weighs 65 lbs. Currently on Kibbles 'n Bits food. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: *people?: Yes. *dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes. Loves: Toys, affection, attention, playing, running, cuddling, walks, chilling on the couch, playing with dogs, balls, fetch, sleeping in bed with his person, being near his person, human companionship, and squeaky toys. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Yes. However, Mikey has jumped over a 6-foot privacy fence, so he absolutely needs boundary training, supervision, and secure containment. *Good on a Leash?: Yes. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: No bite history reported. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'Mikey doesn't bark. He doesn't even try so I don't know if he even can. Mikey trusts humans 100%. He is smart, quiet and has shown no begging, reactivity or prey drive. I'm certain that Mikey could be easily trained to be a psych or other service animal. He has lived the past 3 1/2 years as an ESA and is perfect in every way. Mikey is calming and wants nothing more than to love and be loved. Mikey can certainly run like the wind and loves to do so but he's happy just laying around with his human. Mikey deserves to be cherished and included as a family member.' Mikey is accustomed to a calm environment and having his person with him nearly 24/7. Because he has spent most of his life as an ESA, he is not used to being alone and will need close, consistent human companionship as he adjusts to his new home. Re Homing because�'�|: Mikey's previous person had to leave suddenly and without warning. His Current Shepherd Parent stepped in to rescue him and help him find his Furever Home but is unable to keep him permanently. Mikey is a loving, quiet, affectionate boy who wants nothing more than to be close to his person. He deserves a family who will cherish him, include him in their daily lives, and give him the stability and companionship he is accustomed to. Mikey will be a great companion for the right person. Will thrive best�'�|?: In a loving home with someone who is home often, provides a calm and stable environment, and can offer Mikey the close companionship he needs. He would do best with a person who wants a loyal, nearly constant companion and is willing to help him gradually adjust to any necessary time alone.
