Hello everyone, meet Winchester - Winnie for short. We adopted her three years ago from Huntsville Animal Services as a 3-month-old puppy (see top picture) for my daughter, who was going through an emotional crisis after experiencing her 1st relational heartbreak. After her adoption, Winnie and my daughter, a newly weaned puppy and an only child, became inseparable as both filled the emotional needs of the other. And to complicate matter even further, we experienced a home fire that displaced us from home for over a year while repairs were completed. My daughter did her best to work with the puppy while we were displaced and was able to home train Winnie to go outside, get her accustom to being in a crate, and to obey simple commands like set, and fetch her ball and return it to your feet. Winnie is a very friendly and playful dog who barks at strangers initially, but warms up easily once she realizes you're not a threat. She loves to cuddle, stay as close to you as you'll allow, and is very curious to see and do whatever you're doing. She is a mixed breed dog part American Staffordshire Terrier, Tree Walker Coonhound, and Entlebucher Mountain Dog, as well as other. https://www.chewy.com/education/dog-breeds The reason we have decided to see if we can find Winnie a new owner to care for her is because our family situation has changed. Our daughter's emotional crisis has gotten much better. She's now a 2nd year college student who's been involved in Girls Wrestling, works part-time at the school's Fitness Center, is on Dean's list, and is a Sophomore Student Government Representative. So, as you can see, our daughter just doesn't have as much time as she's had in the past for Winnie. Also, my wife and I are in our late 60's and early 70's and just don't have the energy necessary to properly training Winnie.
