Meet Dante! %90%BE Location: Georgetown, KY DOB: 9/3/24 If you're looking for a big, goofy, affectionate boy who thinks personal space is overrated, Dante might just be your guy! Dante is a sweet, people-loving Great Dane with an average energy level, a playful personality, and a serious talent for snuggling. He wants to be wherever his people are, preferably touching them at all times. Couch time? He's in! Just don't expect him to understand that a Great Dane and a lap dog are two very different things. One of the best things about Dante is seeing how much he shines when he's calm, settled, and listening. He's come a long way learning how to live in a home, and he's proven to be a very capable student. He's housebroken, walks beautifully on a leash without pulling, rides wonderfully in the car, and has done great at the veterinary office. He's also working on becoming more comfortable with his crate and continuing to learn household manners. Dante has a fun, goofy side, too! He loves his toys and entertains himself by tossing them into the air, chasing them down, and dramatically pouncing on them. Just watch out when the squeaky toys come out. Flying stuffed animals are apparently part of the experience! Dante is still learning about boundaries, especially with other dogs. He can become overstimulated and sometimes struggles to recognize when another dog needs space. He's done well with a smaller, older female dog and can coexist peacefully with a more submissive male when he respects boundaries. However, he's had serious conflicts with a more dominant male, resulting in injuries. Because of this, Dante would likely thrive as an only dog, where he can soak up all the attention for himself. He may also do well with a carefully matched, calm, tolerant canine companion, provided introductions are slow and appropriate management is maintained. A home with multiple dogs may be more challenging for him. He hasn't met cats, and his foster family doesn't believe a home with cats would be a good fit. Dante has done well with toddlers, older children, adults, and strangers. He enjoys meeting people and could fit into either a quiet home or a busy family environment. Because he's a giant, enthusiastic snuggler, supervision around children is important. His ideal family will appreciate his affectionate nature while providing the structure, consistency, and continued training he needs to succeed. An experienced Great Dane owner isn't necessarily required, as Dante's leash manners and easygoing behavior in the car make him surprisingly manageable in everyday situations. Understanding his need for guidance around boundaries, however, is essential. Dante has so much love to give and has already made incredible progress. He's looking for someone who will see his potential, celebrate his growth, and help him continue becoming the best version of himself. If you have a couch, some squeaky toys, and room for approximately 150 pounds of affection, Dante is ready to meet you! %9D%A4%8F =============================================================================== To apply to adopt me, please fill out the application form! https://form.jotform.com/51994996709176 .
