About Porter

Porter-Foxhound X male, DOB 10-10-25 (Sept. 2026) Contact [email protected] for an application. Porter came to the Rescue through the Prison Training Program. He is an owner surrender to the Program when the prior owner abandoned this young fellow in a high kill rural shelter. He's a 12-mo. old puppy, looking for his first family that will love, care for him and appreciate what a special dog he is. In his 1st week at the Prison Program, he is learning: Obedience Manners Self-control Husbandry skills Crate skills Socialization with lots of dogs and people Grooming Skills Temperament assessment was excellent. He's a little timid with new people, but this is a big change in his life, lots of new people and experiences. Great with dogs and everyone he has met so far. They feel Porter came from a situation with a lot of dogs and he understands 'dog language' very well. No resource guarding of toys, food, treats, bedding, crate or his trainer. Because he's not lived with cats or children, we do not have an assessment on them at this time. Porter's adoption fee is $350 to help cover the medical costs of getting ready for adoption.
