About Diego

Diego is a sweet, 15-month-old Australian Shepherd mix weighing 43 lbs who is searching for his forever home! Diego was recently diagnosed with Angular Limb Deformity (ALD), a developmental condition that causes his back legs to grow abnormally. Thankfully, Diego is currently pain-free and gets around pretty well! He does tire more easily and needs occasional rest breaks. He may need orthopedic care later in life, but right now he's a happy, healthy boy with some extra-special legs! Diego is a little skittish when meeting new people, but he's incredibly sweet once he starts feeling comfortable. He just needs a patient family willing to help him build confidence! Diego's ideal home: - Dog-friendly, but canine companions should be his size or smaller due to his leg condition. - No young children. Older, respectful children who understand boundaries would be considered. - A patient family who understands his physical limitations and allows him to rest when needed.
