INGRID - A BIG HEART, A BOUNCY SPIRIT, AND A WHOLE WORLD TO EXPLORE! Meet Ingrid, the Boxer girl who believes life is one big adventure waiting to happen! Some dogs quietly walk into your life. Others bounce right in, full of enthusiasm, personality, and an irresistible excitement about everything the world has to offer. Ingrid is definitely the second kind! This beautiful 3-year-old Boxer is a friendly, affectionate, energetic girl who approaches life with the enthusiasm that makes Boxers such wonderful companions. At 55 pounds, Ingrid is an athletic girl with plenty of personality and some impressive jumping skills. Her signature Boxer bounce is part of her charm! Whether she's exploring her surroundings, enjoying a walk, or investigating all those fascinating smells, Ingrid seems delighted to discover what the world has in store. And behind all that wonderful energy is a loving dog who enjoys human attention and is comfortable being handled. A GIRL WHO'S READY FOR ADVENTURE: Ingrid isn't looking for a life spent watching the world through a window. She's looking for someone who wants to experience it with her! Imagine morning walks, weekend adventures, outdoor activities, and the simple pleasure of having a happy, enthusiastic companion by your side. That's the kind of life Ingrid would love. Like many energetic Boxers, Ingrid will benefit from regular exercise, mental stimulation, consistent routines, and positive reinforcement training. Continued leash training will help her develop into an even more enjoyable walking companion. She's an enthusiastic girl, and helping her channel that enthusiasm into good manners will be an important part of building a wonderful relationship. THE RIGHT HOME FOR INGRID: Ingrid has so much love and energy to share, but finding the right match is important. Her ideal home would offer: An active family or individual who enjoys exercise, walks, and outdoor adventures. Adults or families with teenagers ages 13 and older. A secure yard with 6-foot fencing and properly secured gates. Patient, consistent guidance and continued positive reinforcement training. Plenty of opportunities for exercise, play, and mental enrichment. A home without cats or small animals, due to her high prey drive. Ingrid has not yet been tested with other dogs, so her compatibility with canine companions is currently unknown. A carefully supervised introduction with any resident dog would be important before adoption. Her enthusiasm and athletic abilities also mean that secure fencing and attentive supervision are essential. MORE THAN JUST A BOUNCY BOXER: It's easy to notice Ingrid's energy. It's easy to smile at her impressive hops and joyful enthusiasm. But there's something else worth noticing. Ingrid is affectionate. She's friendly. She enjoys being around people. And underneath that lively Boxer personality is a dog who deserves the opportunity to build a lasting bond with someone who appreciates her for exactly who she is. She doesn't need a perfect family. She needs the right family. Someone who understands that an energetic dog isn't a problem to solve, but a companion who needs exercise, guidance, patience, and love. Someone who will celebrate her joyful personality while helping her learn when it's time to slow down. Someone who will look at Ingrid and see not just an energetic shelter dog, but a wonderful friend waiting to come home. COULD YOU BE INGRID'S NEXT GREAT ADVENTURE? Ingrid has already spent enough time waiting for her next chapter to begin. Perhaps that chapter starts with a walk. Perhaps it starts with a smile. Perhaps it starts with you. Come meet Ingrid at Upland Animal Shelter in Upland, California. Because every great adventure is better with a friend. And Ingrid is ready to be yours.
