The LA city shelter is full and is asking for help for this dear girl we are calling Miss Boo. The poor little girl was found in very neglected condition as a stray and brought to the shelter and received some medical attention. The shelter estimates she is only 8 years old. Please help us find a good home, or foster and rescue to save her in time. We will be learning more about her in the coming days, but the shelter notes indicate Miss Boo did 'good' on her exam. However, a few areas were noted on her exam due to utter neglect or age as follows: 'Skin: Alopecia/callous to rump, face has unkempt fur continue meds- DISTENDED CRANIAL ABDOMEN, FIRM ON PALPATION. SWELLING OF THE PERINANAL AREA. ears dirty but not infected Some OPACITIES in eyes Orthopedic: AMBU X 4, SLOW STIFF GAIT. FAVORING THE RIGHT PELVIC LIMB, ROM APPEARS LESS THAN LEFT . mild-mod tartar/gingivitis, no nasal discharge heart sounds normal, no murmurs/arrhythmias lungs clear, normal rate and effort and tensed, non painful' Miss Boo has now been given Gabapentin, Rimadyl, and Nexguard to help her feel better. She has also been vaccinated and can be spayed for a home. Miss Boo is adoptable (a medical waiver may be required) or available for rescue (but most rescues need a foster to save). While she is not on an end-of-day alert- yet-this status could change at any time. This same shelter euthanized a similar senior chow mix who was there after he became sick. Therefore, Miss Boo needs out asap. If you are interested to adopt Miss Boo, and can give her a forever and responsible home and love she so deserves finally, please contact the shelter directly using her link: https://24Petconnect.com/DetailsMain/LACT3/A2298596 &/ or by calling the LA City shelter at (888) 452-7381 and ask for her ID. If you can foster, or foster to adopt (where a rescue would then help with some medical), please contact [email protected] or Southern California Chow Chow Rescue Network who is trying to assist the shelter with her placement, and would try to pair you with a willing rescue. Please note rescue groups usually need a committed foster to usually save a dog. Miss Boo could also uses pledges towards medical for her rescue, if you are unable to foster, but want to help in some way.
