About Scarlet

OK #BelgianMalinois in the #soCal area, Long Beach Animal Care Services has a #MalinoisPuppy that really need help with a person or rescue with experience in this breed! Meet Scarlet, she is a female Belgian Malinois that arrived to the shelter on 10/3/26 after being picked up by a member of the public on Long Beach BLVD & the 91 FWY. Scarlet has presented herself as a very receptive & energetic dog, but also has had little-to-no prior leash training and can easily go into #PanicMode in the loud shelter environment while surrounded by other barking dogs. With that said, Scarlet was co-housed with another shy young female dog that arrived the day before her due to their compatibility together in effort to help them both acclimate quicker to the shelter environment. Select staff & volunteers have invested a lot of time in the few days Scarlet has been at the shelter so she can safely exit her kennel and walk around the property without causing her any physical harm or mental distress... which isn't easy when there are 100+ other dogs that need their own level of daily needs that need to be met. Scarlet needs a quieter less stressful environment ASAP to help continue her basic training of being able to safely walk on a leash or harness, her risk of self injury or unintentional bite to a handler while in distress is too much of a toll on her... and quite frankly she has so much potential in the right hands to enjoy a rapid turnaround in becoming an A+ Malinois! Scarlet is available for adoption or rescue, the shelter opens at 10AM on Friday 10/9/26, PLEASE HURRY!!! HI!
