About Poppy

Hi, I'm Poppy! I'm a beautiful black cat who was rescued from CACC with my babies. I was extremely sick when I arrived and wasn't able to care for my kittens. The truth is, I didn't really want much to do with them, or other animals. I'm looking for a home where I can be the only pet and have my space while I continue decompressing. I'm a bit of a wild child, and my rescue wants my future family to know exactly who they're adopting. I can be incredibly sweet. I purr ridiculously loud, enjoy being pet, and clearly want love and attention. But I want affection on my terms. Sometimes I can go from enjoying attention to suddenly swatting/lunging. My rescue is still learning my signals and what triggers that switch. I'm not a bad cat. I'm a cat who has been sick, stressed, overwhelmed, and is still figuring out how to live comfortably with people. I need an patient adopter who won't push me when I've had enough and who is willing to learn my boundaries. I may never be the cat who wants unlimited cuddles, and that's okay. What I need is someone who appreciates the affection I choose to give and lets me decide when I'm ready for more. There is a very sweet girl underneath all this spice.
