BENNIE is an adorable 18-month-old, 14-pound boy who came to us under less-than-ideal circumstances. On a stormy night, he and a couple of other dogs were put over the fence into Francine's yard. They were widely posted in case they had an owner looking for them, but no one ever came forward to claim them. He's ready for a home where he'll get all the companionship, attention, playtime, and love his happy little heart could want. BENNIE was comfortable with all of us from day one. There is no shy side to this happy, bouncy boy. He loves everyone he meets and is incredibly friendly and affectionate. Scratches, belly rubs, kisses, and plenty of attention are all high on his list of favorite things. More than anything, he loves being close to his person and being part of whatever is going on. He will not be happy spending much time away from his family. BENNIE has plenty of playful energy and loves running around the yard and playing with his dog friends. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and especially enjoys playing with the puppy in his foster home. He also watches and learns from the other dogs. He figured out the doggie door by following one of his foster sibling's lead. Because BENNIE does have some separation anxiety and doesn't enjoy being left alone, his new home needs to have another friendly dog for companionship. Having a canine buddy will give him some extra security as well as a friend for all that playing he loves to do. His compatibility with cats and small children is currently unknown. BENNIE has been doing very well with his potty training and uses the doggie door. He rides beautifully in the car but is not yet leash trained. A fenced yard is required so he has a safe place to run, play, and burn off some of that happy energy. BENNIE is extremely food motivated! He would happily help himself to another dog's dinner if given the opportunity, so separate feeding is a good idea. He also loves toys and is always ready for a snack. At bedtime, BENNIE usually sleeps in the big bed with his people, although sometimes he chooses the dog bed right beside them. Either way, he wants to be close. BENNIE is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review.
