Meet Molly! Molly is a two-year-old, 60-pound Great Pyrenees mix who has made some pretty amazing progress since coming to Fur Fun Rescue. Molly came to us from our friends at Iowa City Animal Care, and we don't think she had spent much time living inside a home before. When she first arrived at her foster home, even walking through a doorway was scary. But after a month with her foster family, Molly has conquered many of those fears and has really come out of her shell. These days, Molly loves people and attention. She has started discovering the joys of being a dog, including picking up bones to chew, playing with toys, and showing off her playful side. At night, she sleeps on the bed with her foster mom, so she has clearly decided that indoor living has some pretty nice perks! Molly is also trusted to stay loose in the house when her foster mom is away. She does well with other dogs but is perfectly happy on her own. She still has a few things to work on. Sudden household noises can frighten her, and the television is particularly suspicious in Molly's opinion. Her adopters will need to be patient and understanding, because Molly's confidence has been built one small victory at a time. She needs people who won't rush her or expect her to adjust overnight. Giving her time, encouragement, and the freedom to figure things out at her own pace will be important. Molly still enjoys spending time outdoors, so a physically fenced yard is required. A secure yard will give her a place to relax, explore, and enjoy the outdoors without adding unnecessary stress. Molly has already come such a long way. The scared girl who once wasn't sure about walking through a doorway is now sleeping on the bed, playing with toys, chewing bones, greeting her people, and enjoying the comforts of home. She's discovering that the world isn't nearly as scary as she once thought. With a patient family willing to let her continue at her own pace, we think Molly has so much more confidence waiting to come out. Molly is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
