Hello Unfortunately we need your help. A little over 3 years ago we lost our two rescue huskies Kimo Sabe, who we had for 13 years and Freya who joined as an older dog.%A0 %A0After a few months we were looking for a new dog to join our family.%A0 Again wanting a rescue, and a husky we started searching for our new family member,%A0 We came across Kodiak out of Oakland California and the Oakland animal control.%A0 Kodiak was 2 months old and listed as a husky mix. Well Kodiak grew up to be%A0an Akita. We like anyone else, we fell in love with a puppy, and adopted him from the Oakland Animal Control.%A0 We have had Kodiak just over 2 years and love him as any of our pets.%A0 Our love for Kodiak is why we are contacting you.%A0 As Kodiak grew up we researched Akita's and learned as much about them as we could. Noting that they were raised as hunting dogs able to take down bears and other large animals.%A0 This concerned us. As a puppy we noticed that he had a very aggressive personality, and demeanor and was not that of a Siberian husky.%A0 We of course watch Hachi and it showed that there could be hope for Kodiak growing out of that aggression. Unfortunately Kody though a nice dog, still scares people that he doesn't know with his aggressive barking and manner, Last year I was having problems with my hip and having trouble walking Kodiak.%A0 He is a big strong youngster who put too much stress on my hip. It was diagnosed that I severe degenerative arthritis and will need a hip replacement.%A0 With rehab, it will take about a year to heal and be able to walk Kodiak again. Kodiak has already suffered from my immobility.%A0 He is restless an anxious and I believe that this might be adding to his aggressive nature.%A0 Kody is a great dog, Loving his family of cats and people that he knows.%A0 We our unable to provide him with the exercise and stimulus he needs and deserves.%A0 We have talked to our friends and family and ask them to help us find Kodiak a home, but so far have had no luck. Please help us, we know you have better resources to find him a good home then we do and unfortunately we will need to make%A0 quick re-homing for him. I would like to send you pictures of Kodiak and show what a handsome, happy, loving dog he is. My text/phone number is Craig Christenson 7077907613 [email protected] hope to hear from you, regards craig
