About Makalani

We adopted Makalani a year ago. She is very smart. Loves to be pet, walks, car rides, and to be near her people. Very food motivated. She is about 45lbs. She does chase our outside cat when off leash but not when on leash. She has chased chickens when they run from her in the yard free, but she has been in their run without hurting them many times. She is usually fine with my young kids (they walk her on leash and have fallen on her without an issue), but she occasionally has moods (usually associated with wanting to get to food) where she has growled at the kids and me, which I can't continue to have. She and my older Catahoula took a few weeks to get used to each other but are now fine. We have been to the dog park a few times without any issues. Needs a home that will love on her consistently and give more consistent training than I can provide with another baby on the way.
