About cockatiel

Senior cockatiel seeking a patient, experienced home. We are seeking a caring, permanent home for a male cockatiel who came to us after a dear friend passed away. His exact age is unknown, but he is definitely over 7 years old. One of his charming talents is whistling and dancing when he hears the theme song from The Andy Griffith Show! We want to be upfront about his current behavior: he hisses and will not come out of his cage with us. He is not currently a hands-on companion and needs someone willing to accept him as he is, without expecting immediate affection or handling. He does not get along with our other bird and has bitten our bird's foot. Any prospective adopter with birds must be prepared to keep him housed separately and prevent direct contact. His large rolling cage will come with him, and we are asking $50 for the cage. Our priority is finding a suitable home-not a quick placement. Please message with your experience caring for cockatiels, whether you have other pets, and the home you could provide. We are especially interested in a patient, experienced bird owner who understands the commitment of caring for an older bird.
