About Lucky

Well hello there - Lucky here, and let me tell you, life is looking pretty good these days! I'm a 10-year-old buff gentleman Cocker Spaniel, tipping the scales at a solid 33 pounds of handsome. I came from a shelter in Georgia after a rough start - I was part of a larger breed bust - but that's all behind me now, and I'm just soaking up the good life. I'm the chill, easygoing type - as calm as they come, honestly. I get along great with other dogs, even my younger, zoomier foster siblings, and I don't mind one bit when they race ahead of me on our walks. I'm doing wonderfully with kids too, very gentle with them, and I give the sweetest kisses when you least expect them. I love getting pets, and I'm careful and gentle taking treats from your hand - no snatching here! I do have some vision impairment, but don't let that fool me - I see just fine, especially in bright light, and I map out a new space in no time. I probably spent most of my life outside, but I am absolutely loving being an inside dog now - I've already mastered a few steps and figured out how to hop up on the couch, which is now my favorite spot to snooze and cuddle, especially during football games! I'm crate trained but I've earned free run of my foster home, and I'm learning to play with my foster pups too. Give me a routine and I'll give you great house manners in return. I sleep through the night, I'm wonderful in the car (especially long road trips - I'm built for it!), and I love curling up on soft blankets or my own dog bed. I'm even fine on my own for a bit when my people step out - I just wander around and nap until they're back. I love watching the backyard through the sliding glass door, and on our walks, a neighborhood cat didn't even get a second glance from me.
