Name: Mindy Age: DOB 11/4/24 Breed: Bouvier, 74 pounds Sex: Female (spayed) Location: Hanover County, Virginia Owner's health does not allow them to physically take care of Mindy. Vet Info: Mindy has had to have both of her eyes removed because of glaucoma. The second eye was just removed 9/29/26. Mindy is microchipped, spayed, current with her vaccinations and HW-. Her health is excellent. Dog Info: Mindy's blindness is causing a physical danger to her senior owners, owner's health has taken a downward turn and is unable to assist Mindy on stairs. Owner has already had one broken rib. Mindy is too large and unsure of her surroundings. She still needs to be watched when she is outside - before complete vision loss, Mindy would play outside on 13 fenced in acres and the owner was able to be with the dogs the whole time. Mindy, and Bouvier siblings would love to herd the owners two horses. Mindy is housebroken, leash trained and went through a month-long stay at a training facility. She knows the commands come, sit, stay, wait and crate. Mindy is an outgoing girl that does well with men, women and children of all ages. She gets along with both male and female dogs. How she is with cats is unknown. She has two Bouvier 'siblings' , a 7 year old female and a 6 year old male. She loves playing and is not possessive with treats, toys or food. She has never shown any aggression. Mindy is still adjusting to her new normal and will need a little guidance and patience as she adjusts to a new home. Mindy is very much loved by her owners and it is breaking their hearts to have to let this sweet girl go but their health decline is holding Mindy back from thriving and being able to live her life to the fullest. *Note: picture is prior to enucleation.
