About Stanley

Australian Cattle Dog mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

After years of trying training, behavior work, and every adjustment we could think of, we've made the heartbreaking decision to begin looking for a new home for our dog, Stanley. As our son has gotten older, Stanley has increasingly struggled living in a busy home/shared space with a young child, and with another baby arriving this summer, we have to make the safest and most responsible decision for both our family and for him. This is absolutely not a decision we made lightly. We love Stanley deeply, and because we love him, we know he deserves a home and environment where he can truly thrive. Before posting publicly elsewhere, we wanted to reach out to family and friends first in hopes that someone we know - or someone connected to you - may be the perfect fit for him. About Stanley %BD'%BD| %BD' Stanley turns 6 years old on August 20th %BD' He's around 50lbs and a mutt but we believe he's a heeler/shepherd mix %BD' He's neutered and in good health (we will update his round of shots before rehoming) %BD'Stan is extremely smart, loyal, energetic, and full of personality and derpy at times %BD' Loves walks, trail walking off leash, playing outside, and being with his people %BD' Also loves cuddling up at the end of the day when things are calm and quiet %BD' He is crate trained and e-collar trained with good recall off leash. %BD'He is protective of his home and can be timid around new men at first, but warms up with proper introductions and patience. %BD' Does best meeting new people outside the home first. %BD'Struggles at the vet and requires some patience and extra encouragement. %BD' No kids or other pets should be present in the new home - Stanley needs to be the only animal in the home. Stanley would thrive with a single person or couple who has the time, patience, and energy to continue building his confidence up and giving him the structure he needs. A home with land or a large yard would be amazing, but more than anything, he just needs the right person. He has been so incredibly loyal to us these past almost 6 years, and this goodbye is devastating for Seth and I. We are simply hoping to find him a safe, loving home where he can live the life he deserves. We will send all of his belongings with him - crate, bed, blankets, toys, bowls, leashes/collars, and remaining food.
