About Mace

This sweet boy is looking for a loving new home due to circumstances completely unrelated to him.My priority is finding him a safe, stable home where he can be loved and cared for. He was born November 17, 2018 and is a Pit Bull/Boxer mix (his mother was reportedly a full Pit Bull and his father a full Boxer). He is neutered, although he will need his vaccinations brought up to date. He has been raised in a home with children and has done well with them. I believe he would be best suited for a home with older children, simply because they are more likely to understand and respect a dog's boundaries than very young toddlers. He is also good with cats and has lived successfully with another dog. He has not had extensive socialization with unfamiliar dogs, so I would recommend slow, controlled introductions to any new canine companions. He does sometimes run and bark along the fence line when neighboring dogs are outside, but he responds to correction and will stop or come when called. He knows basic commands, is not food aggressive, and enjoys having a fenced yard where he can run and play. At night, he sleeps on his dog bed. He is not currently crate trained. He would do best with someone willing to give him a little time to adjust and get comfortable in a new environment. He has been part of our family for years, so this is not a decision being made lightly. I would really love to find someone who will give him the stability, patience, and affection he deserves.
