About Kallen

Meet Kallen !! This little guy is a lot of fun and loves everyone. A happy boy for sure. Very friendly and outgoing. He would be a great dog for someone wanting to go on outings or adventures but is also happy to just be your bestie at home. Kallen is a Male, approx. 4 year old, Chihuahua mix best guess but he doesn't really act like a chi at all. He weighs 13.7 pounds and is full grown. He will be neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines as part of his adoption. He is Heartworm negative and on preventatives. Kallen ended up at the shelter after he was found as a stray. He had part of a tie out line still attached to his collar. He's been nothing but happy and grateful since we took him from the shelter. He is fostered with many other dogs of all ages and sizes including other unfixed males. He does great with all of them but would also be fine without another dog. He enjoys running the yard with the other dogs. He is a big humper of dogs (male and female) that don't tell him to stop. He stops whenever a dog tells him to but with passive dogs he keeps trying. His upcoming neuter will likely help with that. He has not yet met cats so we are not sure how he would do. He met a few kids so far and did really well with them. He does do a lot of jumping up on people so that should be considered with small kids. He needs to be with kids old enough to not treat him like a toy. Kallen is great in the car. He also does well with the leash but pulls some when excited. He's crate trained and goes in when asked. He's fine crated for a full work day. He can be a bit vocal in the crate but mostly when he sees you doing things with other dogs and wants to be a part of it. He's done well with potty training but marks his territory inside still. This is another thing his upcoming neuter will hopefully help with. He has a medium energy level. He has a spunky side and loves to run around. He's easily excitable and fun. He also has no trouble being crated all day while you're at work. As long as he gets that energy and excitement out he can relax and chill. He loves to be right with you or sit on your lap but isn't really a lapdog. He's more fun and active and ready for adventures. After he gets his energy out he is much more relaxed. Kallen so far has not shown any food, toy or treat aggression toward people or other dogs. He currently eats in his crate. He's very treat motivated and takes treats gently. He was a good boy at the vet. He does very well with strangers and seems to be happy wherever he is and whoever he is with. If you are looking for a fun, loving and happy smaller guy then he may be the one! He has a great personality and a love of life. Vet and home checks required Located in Hampton VA.
