About Rosie

This is Rosie. I adopted her three years ago from a friend of one of my best friends, and she has been such a blessing and wonderful addition to our home. She is amazing with my older dog, and my 5-year-old son absolutely adores her. She also does very well with our chickens and cat. Rosie is a pure Beagle through and through. She barks at literally everything, but she settles down when commanded. She is truly all bark and no bite. And, as any Beagle owner knows, her nose is another story entirely. She is constantly following her nose and has become incredibly skilled at escaping our backyard. I have tried everything I can reasonably afford, including multiple types of collars, fence blockers, anti-dig fencing, and other deterrents, but nothing has worked. At this point, she is getting out almost every other day, if not every day. I have reached the point where I am genuinely afraid that one day she won't come home because she was hit by a car, wandered too far, or was taken by someone. It absolutely breaks my heart to even consider rehoming her. This is not because she isn't loved or wanted. She is very loved. I just don't feel confident that she can safely stay in our current environment, and I desperately want her to have a long, happy life. I believe Rosie would thrive in a home with a secure, escape-proof yard or someone who understands the Beagle nose and is willing to give her the exercise, stimulation, and safe opportunities to follow it. She deserves a home where she can be her wonderfully goofy Beagle self without constantly putting herself in danger. This is an incredibly difficult decision, but ultimately, I am trying to do what is best for Rosie and give her the safest and happiest life possible.
