Sweet 4-Year-Old Husky/AmStaff Mix Looking for Her Forever Home Santa Ana, CA �'ۢ 4 years old �'ۢ Female �'ۢ 65 lbs �'ۢ Spayed Meet Her She is a beautiful Husky/AmStaff mix looking for a loving, patient and permanent home. She is a very sweet, mellow dog in the house and yard and enjoys being around her people. She is happy to relax at home and doesn't need constant activity or attention. Her current owner is very fond of her and will continue caring for her until the right permanent home is found. There is no rush to place her. Her Personality At home: Sweet, mellow and affectionate. She settles well and enjoys having her own space. With strangers: She is okay with people and is not aggressive toward visitors, but she generally prefers to be left alone rather than approached or fussed over by strangers. She does best when people respect her space. With dogs: She has successfully lived with a large dog. She is reactive to other dogs while on leash, so she needs an owner who understands leash reactivity. A compatible large dog may be possible with a careful introduction. With cats: No cats. With children: No children. We are looking for an adult household. Food: She does not resource-guard food from people. She has had one incident involving a Chihuahua around food that resulted in a bite. Because of that history, she should not live with small dogs and food should be managed appropriately around other animals. Anxiety & Special Needs She takes veterinarian-prescribed anxiety medication. She is extremely frightened by fireworks, so she needs a secure home and an owner who is prepared to manage her anxiety during fireworks and other loud events. Most Important We are looking for the right home-not simply the first available home. She is a special dog with many wonderful qualities, along with some specific needs that need to be understood and managed. Her current owner will keep her for as long as necessary while the right adopter is found. There is no deadline and no emergency surrender. We will be completely honest with prospective adopters about her personality, behavior and history and want to make sure everyone is comfortable before she moves.
