Meet Ace %90%BE Ace | 2-Year-Old Albino American Doberman | Looking for His New Home Ace is a beautiful 2-year-old albino American Doberman who is looking for a loving new home where he can get the time, attention, and one-on-one care he deserves. Ace is an incredibly sweet, affectionate dog with people and is great with children. He loves being around his family, enjoys attention, and has a goofy, loving personality that makes him a wonderful companion. Ace is an American Doberman, which means he has a slightly smaller build than the typical European or larger Doberman. We expect him to be approximately 55-70 lbs at his healthy adult size. %9D%A4%8F What We Love About Ace * Great with people and children * Affectionate and loving with his family * Gets along well with our Siberian Husky and Boston Terrier * Young, energetic, and playful * Very loyal and people-oriented * Crate trained * Knows basic commands including sit and stay * Waits for permission before eating his food * Does great on car rides * Has a lot of love to give to the right family %8F%A0 Training & Home Life Ace is crate trained and is comfortable spending time in his crate. He knows basic commands such as sit and stay, and one of the things we've worked on with him is waiting for a command before eating his food. He generally does well with his house training, although he can occasionally have a pee accident if left unattended for too long, so a new family should continue to give him appropriate potty breaks and supervision while he adjusts to a new environment. Ace also does great in the car and is comfortable going for rides. %90 About His Barking & Other Dogs The biggest challenge we have experienced with Ace is his reaction to unfamiliar dogs. When he sees other dogs, Ace can bark and become very vocal. His behavior can look intimidating or aggressive from the outside, but based on what we've observed, we believe much of his reaction comes from nervousness and uncertainty around unfamiliar dogs rather than a desire to hurt them. Ace currently lives successfully with our Siberian Husky and Boston Terrier, and he has a good relationship with both of them. Because of his reaction to unfamiliar dogs, we want to be completely transparent about this. Ace would benefit from someone who is patient, understands dog behavior, and is willing to continue working with him on confidence, leash manners, and appropriate reactions around other dogs. %8F Why We're Rehoming Him This is a very difficult decision for our family. We currently have three dogs, and we've realized that we simply don't have the time and bandwidth to give Ace the individual attention, exercise, training, and care he deserves. We love Ace and this decision isn't because he is a bad dog. We want to find him a home where someone has the time and energy to help him continue to grow into the best dog he can be. Our priority is finding the right home, not simply finding him a home quickly. %9D%A4%8F The Home We're Looking For We'd love to find Ace a family who: * Has experience with larger or energetic dogs * Is patient and willing to work with a dog who can be nervous around unfamiliar dogs * Has the time for exercise, training, and individual attention * Understands that barking/reactivity around other dogs is something they'll need to manage * Will continue reinforcing his basic training * Is comfortable with crate training and maintaining a consistent routine * Will treat Ace as part of the family and give him the patience he deserves Ace has so much potential to be an amazing companion for the right person or family. He's loving, affectionate, intelligent, and has a lot of personality. We want to take the time to find Ace the right home where he can thrive. %9D%A4%8F If you think Ace might be a good fit for your family, please reach out and tell us a little about yourself, your home, your experience with dogs, and what kind of environment you can provide for him.
