About Ted

Ted Needs a Foster or Adopter to Secure His Ride to Wisconsin Ted is part of an owner-surrender/hoarding situation in Mississippi where his owner currently has approximately 40 Pomeranian/Chihuahua mixes and can no longer care for them. Ted has spent his life in this overcrowded home and has never experienced life outside of that environment. He is scheduled to travel to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on Saturday, 10/10 and needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER to make the trip. Meet Ted Ted is a sweet little guy who is ready for a fresh start and the chance to discover what life is like in a loving home. At just 1 year old, he has spent his life in an overcrowded environment with many other dogs and will have a lot of new experiences ahead of him. Ted may be shy and unsure when he first arrives. After spending his life in an overcrowded environment, the sights, sounds, people, and routines of a new home may be overwhelming at first. He will need a patient family who is willing to give him time to feel safe, build confidence, and warm up. His new family should be prepared for an adjustment period and understand that Ted may not immediately come out of his shell. He will need reassurance, patience, and plenty of time to learn that he is safe. With consistency and love, we hope to see this sweet boy gain confidence and begin to enjoy all the things he has been missing. Ted will also need help adjusting to the basics of being a house dog. Potty training, crate training, and leash walking are unknown, so his foster or adopter should be prepared to patiently teach him these skills. He has lived with many other dogs and may benefit from having a friendly, confident dog around as he adjusts to his new life. Ted is looking for someone who understands that earning his trust may take time. He may be nervous at first, but he deserves the opportunity to learn what it feels like to be loved, safe, and part of a family.
