Dolly Needs a Foster or Adopter to Secure Her Ride to Wisconsin Dolly is part of an owner-surrender/hoarding situation in Mississippi where her owner currently has approximately 40 Pomeranian/Chihuahua mixes and can no longer care for them. Dolly has spent her life in this overcrowded home and has never experienced life outside of that environment. She is scheduled to travel to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on Saturday, 10/10 and needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER to make the trip. Meet Dolly Dolly is a tiny, sweet girl who is ready for a fresh start and the chance to discover what life is like in a loving home. At just 9 months old, she has spent her life in an overcrowded environment with many other dogs and will have a lot of new experiences ahead of her. Dolly may be shy and unsure when she first arrives. Her new family should be prepared for an adjustment period and understand that Dolly may not immediately come out of her shell. She will need reassurance, patience, and plenty of time to learn that she is safe. With consistency and love, we hope to see this little girl gain confidence and begin to show her sweet personality. Dolly will also need help learning the basics of being a house dog. Potty training, crate training, and leash walking are unknown, so her foster or adopter should be prepared to patiently teach her these skills. She has lived with many other dogs and may benefit from having a friendly, confident dog around as she adjusts to her new life. Dolly is looking for someone who understands that earning her trust may take time. She may be nervous at first, but she deserves the opportunity to learn what it feels like to be loved, safe, and part of a family. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option.
