About Bob

Bob Needs a Foster or Adopter to Secure His Ride to Wisconsin Bob is part of an owner-surrender/hoarding situation in Mississippi where his owner currently has approximately 40 Pomeranian/Chihuahua mixes and can no longer care for them. Bob has spent his life in this overcrowded home and has never experienced life outside of that environment. He is scheduled to travel to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on Saturday, 10/10 and needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER to make the trip. Meet Bob Bob is a sweet little guy who is ready for a fresh start and the chance to discover what life is like in a loving home. At just 1 year old, he has spent his life in an overcrowded environment with many other dogs and will have a lot of new experiences ahead of him. Bob may be shy and unsure when he first arrives. After spending his life in an overcrowded home, the sights, sounds, people, and routines of a new environment may be overwhelming at first. He will need a patient family who is willing to give him time to feel safe, build confidence, and warm up. His new family should be prepared for an adjustment period and understand that Bob may not immediately come out of his shell. He will need reassurance, patience, and plenty of time to learn that he is safe. With consistency and love, we hope to see this sweet boy gain confidence and begin to enjoy all the things he has been missing. Bob will also need help adjusting to the basics of being a house dog. Potty training, crate training, and leash walking are unknown, so his foster or adopter should be prepared to patiently teach him these skills. He has lived with many other dogs and may benefit from having a friendly, confident dog around as he adjusts to his new life. Bob is looking for someone who understands that earning his trust may take time. He may be nervous at first, but he deserves the opportunity to learn what it feels like to be loved, safe, and part of a family. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option.
