About Piper

Meet Piper - Your New Snuggle Buddy! Say hello to Piper, a beautiful 4-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog. She has a heart as big as her personality! Piper is a 60 pound snuggle bug who believes there's no such thing as too many cuddles, belly rubs, or cozy time at home with her favorite people. This sweet and loyal girl loves to play, cuddle, and soak up attention, and she's wonderful with kids. She's also been professionally trained, so she's ready to settle into her forever home and show her new family just how incredibly special she is. She is housetrained and knows basic commands�'�|and not so basic, like paw and hugs! Piper enjoys car rides, hikes, and would love a home with a backyard of her very own. She can be selective with doggie friends so she would do best in a home as an only dog. She is happiest in a place where she can stretch her legs, enjoy some sunshine, and, most importantly, roll around in the grass! It's one of her favorite things to do. After playtime and a walk, Piper can be found curled up, content, and napping happily. Piper is looking for a family where she can be your one and only pet, the center of your world, and the recipient of all the love she has to give. Her next chapter is waiting, and Piper is ready to fill it with love, laughter, playtime, belly rubs, grassy zoomies, and plenty of snuggles. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources.
