About LAINEY

LAINEY is a 3-year-old, 13 pound Chihuahua who came to us from a shelter where she had been taken after being found as a stray. We didn't know it when we agreed to take her but she was pregnant and in due time she had four beautiful babies who have already found their homes. LAINEY is a very sweet girl who loves attention, pets, and plenty of belly and back rubs. She was a very good protective mama but now that her puppies have left, her current foster is seeing a relaxed, happy girl. Once she's comfortable in the home, she wants to be close to her people. She'll hang out with you while you're watching TV, follow you around the yard, and happily give little kisses when she gets the chance. LAINEY has done well with the dogs in her foster homes and enjoys having canine companions. We think Lainey will be happiest in a home with another small dog for companionship. We do not know how she would do with cats or children. LAINEY has discovered that toys are fun! When she was raising her puppies, she enjoyed playing with toys with them and would sometimes take a favorite toy to her bed to sleep with it. She is gentle when taking treats and doesn't jump on people. LAINEY is house trained, knows how to use a doggy door, and will use a potty pad if she can't get outside. She is young and active and loves exploring the yard and chasing birds and squirrels around the bird feeder. She has pretty good recall in the yard and comes when called, especially when there's a treat involved. Because she originally came to us as a stray and enjoys exploring, we are requiring a home with a securely fenced yard. LAINEY sleeps in the big bed with her foster mom and foster siblings and is very happy snuggled up with everyone. She's come a long way from the mama who was busy watching over her babies, and now she's ready to find a family of her own. LAINEY is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola).
