I rescued Hazel from SEAACA in Los Angeles in July 2026. She had been brought in as a stray. According to her Embark Dog DNA test results, she's 4 years 7 months old (estimated birth date February 17, 2022). She's a mix of 2 breeds: 52.8% Collie (smooth) and 47.2% German Shepherd. Hazel is a beautiful, intelligent, sweet natured, high energy working dog. She is a quick learner, wants to please, and is very treat motivated. She is house trained and is learning basic leash and other training commands. She would do really well in an active household with perhaps 1 other dog as she likes to be with her humans. She would do best in a home without cats. Hazel has separation anxiety (from her time as a stray) and is on an anti-anxiety medication. I am working with a fantastic dog behaviorist/trainer to help Hazel manage her anxiety and fear reactivity. I am rehoming her because I have 3 cats who Hazel always wants to chase, and it's not fair to any of them to keep them living together.
