My name is Gelli�'�| but my friends call me Gelli Bean ���� I'm a one-year-old pup with a big heart and an even bigger love for my people. I've been hanging out in my foster home since the end of January, and wow-I've learned SO much! My foster family says they're really proud of me. I do great in my crate, I know 'sit' and 'kennel,' and I come when you call my name (most of the time�'�| I mean, I am still young ����). I walk nicely on a leash and absolutely LOVE going on adventures. Walks are definitely one of my favorite things! If you don't like walks, a fenced in yard would be amazing. My foster grandparents have a fenced in yard I enjoy visiting so I can run and run and run! I am still learning not to jump on my family and friends, but I will keep at it. I would love more training if you are willing to work on it with me. Did I mention I am very treat motivated? I get along with just about everyone in my foster home-big dogs, little dogs, and even cats! I especially adore my foster mom and my 10-year-old human buddy. I'm also a total pro in the car and even handle baths like a champ (yep, even the ones at Tractor Supply! ����). There is something really important about me that my forever family will need to understand. Like many rescue dogs, I need the 3-3-3 rule-3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to start settling into a routine, and 3 months to truly feel at home. ���� I'm a girl who takes her time warming up to new people. When someone new comes to visit, I need to be safely kenneled while I get comfortable. The best thing you can do is simply ignore me and give me space. No pressure, no reaching for me, and no asking me to be your best friend right away. Eventually, when I realize everything is okay, I'll come around on my own and can be let out to join everyone. Once I trust you, you'll see the real Gelli Bean-and she is pretty special. �ٴ� I'm loving, loyal, eager to please, and I really do want to make my people happy. Give me patience, consistency, and a little time, and I'll work hard to show you just how much I can blossom. Because of this, I need a home that understands rescue dogs and is willing to let me move at 'my own pace.'
