Lexi Needs a Foster or Adopter by October 10 to Secure Her Ride to Wisconsin Lexi is currently in Mississippi and is waiting for a foster or adopter to secure her spot on Mutt Life Dog Rescue's transport to Cedarburg, Wisconsin on Saturday, October 10. A committed home is required for her to make the trip, and we are hoping someone will fall in love with this adorable little girl and give her the fresh start she deserves! Meet Lexi Lexi is a 10-week-old mixed-breed puppy who is absolutely adorable and full of puppy personality! She was found as a stray and ended up at a high-intake kill shelter in Mississippi. Thankfully, one of our rescue partners in the area was able to pull her to safety, and now Lexi is waiting for her chance to make her way to Wisconsin. At just 10 weeks old and 7 pounds, Lexi is a tiny little girl with plenty of growing and learning ahead of her. She is friendly, happy, playful, and everything you would expect from a sweet young puppy. She is ready to discover all the fun that comes with having a family of her own. Like any young puppy, Lexi will need a family who understands that puppies require patience, supervision, training, and plenty of time to grow into the wonderful adult dogs they are meant to be. She will need continued work on potty training, crate training, leash skills, basic manners, and all the other things puppies need to learn. Lexi is ready to leave her stray days behind and start the next chapter of her life. Now she just needs a foster or adopter to make sure she has a place to go when the transport heads north! Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. 3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option.
