LOOKING FOR A LOVING FOREVER HOME FOR OUR SWEET BOY We are looking for the right home for our beloved Alaskan Malamute. This is not an easy decision, but due to a move and the restrictions of where we are going, we are no longer able to keep him. More than anything, we want to find him a home where he can truly thrive and receive the attention, space, and love he deserves. He is an incredibly kind, playful, gentle, and submissive boy. Although his size and appearance can be intimidating, he is honestly one of the sweetest dogs you could ever meet. He is a big baby, very cheerful, affectionate, and full of personality. He has been well trained and is obedient when using a designated bathroom area. He understands where he is supposed to go and can follow commands such as staying in his designated area, even without a leash. Because he is an Alaskan Malamute, he has a LOT of energy and really needs space to run, explore, and be free. A home with a good-sized fenced yard, or plenty of safe open space would be ideal for him. He absolutely loves social interaction and attention, although he has also become accustomed to spending a lot of time alone. Our lives have become very busy, and unfortunately, there have been times when we haven't been able to give him the amount of attention and interaction he really needs. We recognize that this isn't fair to him, and we want to do what is best for him moving forward. One thing potential adopters should know: he pulls quite a bit on a leash. When he gets excited outside, traditional walks can be challenging because he wants to go, explore, and pull. This is something that his future family would need to be willing to continue working on with him. He does much better in a safe, designated area where he can move around freely. About him: Alaskan Malamute - Very gentle and friendly - Playful and cheerful - Submissive temperament - Big baby / gentle giant - Loves people and social interaction - Has been trained and knows basic expectations - Loves having room to run and explore - Best suited for a home with decent outdoor space. - Leash pulling is an area that still needs work - Would benefit from a family who has time to give him attention, interaction, and exercise We aren't looking for just *any* home for him. We want to find the right home -someone who understands the needs of a Malamute and can give him the space, companionship, exercise, and attention that he deserves. He has so much love to give, and despite his big size, he really is just a sweet, goofy, happy boy.
