About Lumi

Lumi is a 2-year-old, 8.5 lb Pomeranian who is truly a gem of a little dog. She is calm, gentle, sensitive, playful, patient and easygoing. She is great with children and currently lives with kids under 8, and also lived with children in her previous home. She loves car rides, getting groomed, adventures and being included in everyday life, but is just as happy napping near you at home. Lumi is a true Velcro dog who bonds deeply with one main person and loves affection. She tends to gravitate toward women and can be more shy/selective with men, so a gentle, soft-spoken person who understands her sensitive nature would be ideal. She is low-medium energy, walks beautifully on leash, settles easily, is non reactive and has no prey drive. She isn't territorial of our home or yard and doesn't mind people walking by when she's outside. She does well with animals and dogs big or small that play gently or are happy to just hang out. Overbearing dogs that are constantly in her face can be too much for her. We have rabbits and a bird and she calmly hangs out with them. She also sheds very little. Lumi sleeps in her crate all night and does well when left home alone. We leave her in an enclosed space with her bed and she settles in and naps without barking. If she wants out, she usually let us know by whimpering (and only when we are all walking about doing things and she wants to join). She is trained to potty outside and does best being taken out every 3-4 hours since she doesn't reliably signal when she needs to go. She occasionally alert barks at doors or activity in the house and sometimes in the morning when she hears everyone awake, but overall she is quiet and isn't a yappy dog.
