About Kenai

Kenai is a handsome 2-year-old, 83 lb white Lab mix with a sweet, gentle nature. Kenai can be pretty wary of new people and unfamiliar situations, but he's come such a long way in the few months he's been at the shelter. Once he's somewhere he knows and feels safe, you get to see more of the wonderful dog underneath all that uncertainty. He loves going for walks in familiar places and, in our shelter playgroups, he'll sometimes play a little with dogs he's comfortable with, though most of the time he seems perfectly happy just watching the show. Kenai is looking for a quiet, stable home with someone patient enough to let him experience the world at his own pace, but because he can overreact when overstimulated, Kenai should not live in a home with children. What he really needs is someone who understands that trust and confidence don't happen overnight, and who will give him the time and reassurance he needs to keep making progress. Be sure to date it next to the signature line (applications are reviewed in the order they are received) and put the name of the animal you are interested in at the top. You can then save the application to your computer and email it to [email protected] or print it and deliver it directly to the shelter.
