Background: Current Shepherd Parent's brother rescued Jasper from a shelter when Jasper was approximately 9 months old. Jasper's Current Shepherd Parent recently passed away. His sister has stepped up and is currently staying with Jasper in her brother's home until Jasper finds a new home, but can only do this a short while. NOT UTD on shots WITH record. Jasper has a vet appointment on 10/22 to get updated. Fixed. Unknown with kids. Unknown with dogs. Unknown with cats. House trained. Jasper currently free roams the home and does not need to be crate trained. Crate trained: Unknown. He does not need to be crated as he free roams the home. Any known medical issues?: No known medical issues, but Jasper does have seasonal allergies. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: Jasper is grieving the loss of his person, who passed away a couple of months ago. Jasper is scared of loud noises and sudden movements. ENERGY LEVEL: Medium. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: High. Weighs 92 lbs. Currently on Diamond food. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: *people?: Unknown. *dogs?: Unknown. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes, Jasper seems to be good with meeting new people, but this is not fully known at this time. Loves: Treats, chew bones, hide and seek, walks, balls, fetch, being near his person, and Milk Bones. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Yes. *Good on a Leash?: Yes. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: None Disclosed. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: 'Jasper is so loving and smart! He loves to be touched but not held. Has one cute little white hair that stands up on his black nose! I feel that he needs a purpose and is very trainable, needs someone younger than me and my husband to do things with him! He worries me around my Yorkie, likes to hunt and chase small animals like squirrels and rabbits. My brother did let him get overweight and ive been working on that. Hes a beautiful boy! Very expressive eyes! Likes to lay outside. The yard is not fenced but he never leaves it. Potty training is perfect and doesn't bother anything in the house. Seems a little aggressive when a stranger comes to the door but is not hard to hold back. Prefers men but loves people he knows. 'Heartbreaking for me, but he deserves more.' 'This was my brother's dog. He passed away after 2 months in hospital. I've been staying with jasper but I need to get back to my home. I have taken jasper there a few times but it hasn't worked well with my Yorkie or 3 outdoor cats. At almost 70 years old, its too much for my husband and I.' 'Prefers men , likes to be with his people. I dont think he's been around a lot of other dogs but I think he would love the companionship once he was taught. Not sure about small children. His sister has stepped up and is staying in his home with Jasper in hopes of finding Jasper a great home ASAP. She cannot stay with him for much longer. Jasper is grieving the loss of his person and deserves a loving home where he can receive the time, patience, attention, and companionship he needs. He will be a great companion for the right person.
