About Cookie

Cookie: Looking for Someone to Call Her Own Meet Cookie, a one-year-old, 9-pound hypoallergenic little girl who is ready to become the center of someone's world. Our best guess is that Cookie is a Miniature Poodle and Shih Tzu mix, which means she is small, adorable, and very likely to believe that your lap was created specifically for her. Cookie came to Fur Fun Rescue from our friends at Iowa City Animal Care, and she didn't waste any time showing her foster family what she really wants out of life: people. Cookie loves attention and would happily spend her day close to her favorite person. Sitting on a lap is one of her favorite activities, and she is happiest when she knows her person is nearby. She also enjoys getting out for walks and does well on a leash. She's a nice little walking companion who enjoys seeing what's happening in the neighborhood before heading home to her favorite spot, preferably beside or on top of her person. Cookie does okay with other dogs, but she isn't particularly interested in playing with the dogs in her foster home. While they may be ready for a game of chase or wrestling match, Cookie's attention is focused elsewhere. Her person is her priority. She would be perfectly happy being the dog who gets to spend her time hanging out with her human rather than needing a canine playmate. Cookie is looking for someone who wants a small companion who will be happy to follow them around, go for walks, curl up on a lap, and soak up plenty of attention. If you've been hoping for a little dog who wants to be your constant companion and doesn't mind being told she's adorable approximately 47 times a day, Cookie would like to meet you. She may be small, but Cookie has some very specific plans for her future: find her person, claim the lap, and be loved. Cookie is housetrained. She likes to go outside but if her human door opener isn't home, she will use a potty pad. She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested and microchipped.
