About Carmen

What a way to start a week! Sunday, August 30, 2026, we found out that perla, #a5795379 was scheduled to die at 4 PM on Monday. Perla is 11-year-old white German Shepherd that was owner surrendered to the downey shelter, on august 14, 2026. When she arrived, she was flea infested, was missing a lot of fur and had trouble walking. She was friendly with people and did well in her behavior assessment. Several people reached out asking if we could help. We needed a foster. And then the perfect person came along. So today, August 31, 2026, at four pm, instead of being euthanized, she was at my vet office so we can make a plan to give her the best of the rest of her life. Carmen then went to her forever home. Her foster texted me when the dog arrived and said, Carmen is perfect!
