About Arlo

Arlo is a one-year-old long-haired Miniature Dachshund and professional snuggler! He is fully potty trained (including potty bells), knows his basic commands, and is incredibly loyal. His favorite things are cuddling and playing fetch. Arlo is shy and takes time to warm up to new people. He is fearful of large dogs but does well with small dogs once comfortable. He has done well with children 6+ who understand he is shy. He loves exploring but can be nervous around dogs and loud cars on walks. Arlo has severe separation anxiety and needs an experienced, patient adopter committed to continuing his independence training. His ideal home would have someone who works permanently from home or is retired and home most of the time. He would do best with a calm, confident canine companion. Arlo has tried anxiety medications and training, but needs a home comfortable managing separation anxiety and willing to give him the time and consistency he needs. He is a loving, sweet boy who will thrive with the right family. You MUST be an experienced dachshund owner, work from home fully or be retired. You must also have at least one other small dog.
