About Mazapan

Mazapan is an incredibly sweet girl. She's approximately 3 years old, about 60 pounds, and a husky mix. She's a little shy at first, and may take a bit to warm up, but once she knows and trusts you, she is the biggest cuddle bug and doesn't want to leave your side. She also thinks she's a lap dog, so get ready to provide all the pets. She has been an amazing friend to her foster sister, Maia. She really seems to love all dogs and trusts them much more easily than new humans. She loves to play hard, but also will calm down and take as many naps as she plays. She would be fine as an only dog, but she would be thrilled to have a dog sibling. She is great with kids and sits nicely while they pet her as long as they don't approach too quickly. We have yet to encounter cats, so that relationship is yet to be seen. Her foster mom works from home, so she is used to having someone with her a lot of the time. She does have some separation anxiety exerted through some chewing, but we are currently crate training to hopefully reduce that. She typically gets up around 8am, takes a few walks between meetings every day, plays and naps throughout the day, and bedtime is around 10pm. She is a great eater for a husky, and typically eats around 9am and 6pm. She has recently tackled potty training, as her foster home is a condo. She still has not quite learned to signal that she needs to go out, but with regular walks she will use the time to go potty (she just needs to find juuuust the right spot). She is great on a lead, but you should know is very prey driven. Bunnies, squirrels, lizards and birds beware. She also is incredibly quiet for a husky and really only whines when she sees a friend doggo that she can't play with. Overall Mazapan is an incredibly smart girl and is SO eager to please you and follow your lead. She does the cutest head tilt and you can see her wheels turning trying to figure out what you need from her. She gets so excited when she gets it right, and is very pet and treat motivated. Once she gets a concept, you can see it just... CLICKS for her, and she's got it. She will take to training extremely well. Her foster family has adored having her with them and they just know she's going to be the sweetest addition to any family who chooses her.
